Most private Bordeaux wine tours run between 3 and 5 days. A 3-day trip focuses on one bank — either the Médoc or Saint-Émilion. A 5-day trip allows time on both banks, plus a day in Bordeaux city itself.
The Left Bank (Médoc) is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, producing structured, age-worthy wines from appellations including Pauillac, Saint-Julien, and Margaux. The Right Bank (Saint-Émilion, Pomerol) is Merlot-led, producing rounder, more approachable wines on clay and limestone soils.
