Day 1
Check into your room at the Grand Barrail Château-Hotel and Spa, nestled amongst the rolling vineyards of Saint-Emilion.
To begin your discovery of Saint-Emilion's luscious red wines, a private transfer will take you to a small, family-run winery for an evening tasting.
After returning, we will make a dinner reservation for you in Grand Barrail's bistro restaurant for relaxed dining in a sophisticated atmosphere.
Day 2
You will be collected in the morning by your English-speaking private chauffeur, who will accompany you throughout the day.
Your first visit will be to an award-winning Grand Cru Classé winery, owned by a prestigious family. You'll enjoy a private tour and tasting guided by a knowledgeable sommelier, followed by a light lunch accompanied by a glass of their wine — every meal thoughtfully prepared by the château's in-house chef.
You will visit two further Grand Cru Classé châteaux for a full day of luxurious tastings and immersion in the heritage of the region.
After your final visit, your driver will return you to your hotel. You'll have a free evening, with the option of a dinner reservation at one of the hotel's restaurants or in Saint-Emilion itself, with private transfers arranged.
Day 3
A private transfer takes you to Saint-Emilion in the morning, giving you time to explore the village's winding cobbled streets and boutique shops. Pop into a classic French café for a bite to eat, or settle into a long lunch at one of Saint-Emilion's gourmet restaurants.
After lunch, you'll be driven to a winery in Pomerol for a final tour and tasting. Here you'll discover the subtle differences between the Saint-Emilion and Pomerol appellations — variations in terroir and winemaking technique that produce Pomerol's characteristic velvety, Merlot-based wines, sought after by collectors worldwide.
A private transfer returns you to your hotel, where you'll have time to unwind in the luxurious spa and heated outdoor pool. To finish your trip in style, you'll dine in the Grand Barrail's gastronomic Mauresque dining room.
Day 4
Time to check out and head home — or on to your next destination.
