Day 1
This evening, settle into the trip properly with dinner at a traditional bouchon in the heart of old Lyon — the perfect introduction to the hearty, unfussy cooking the city is famous for.
Day 2
This morning, a guided food tour through the streets of old Lyon brings the city’s culinary history to life, stop by stop — including a savoury cheese tasting substantial enough to double as a light lunch.
The afternoon is yours to spend exploring Lyon at your own pace. Lyon is a beautiful city in three parts, and we believe spontaneous personal discovery is often the most memorable part of any trip — so we’ll happily step back and let you wander. That said, we’re always on hand with curated recommendations, whether you’re after a hidden food market, a quieter bouchon, or simply the best view in the city.
Day 3
Today is dedicated to a private full-day tour of Beaujolais. Lyon sits at a uniquely fortunate crossroads between Beaujolais and the Northern Rhône, so if Syrah is more to your taste than Gamay, we’re happy to arrange an alternative day tour into the Northern Rhône instead.
The evening is free.
Day 4
Put your knowledge of Lyonnaise cuisine into practice with a hands-on cooking class. You’ll begin the morning in the food markets with your guide, hand-selecting the ingredients you’ll cook with later. You’ll then sit down to enjoy the meal you’ve prepared for lunch, wine included.
Once again, the afternoon is free to spend as you please — and once again, we’re always happy to point you in the right direction.
Day 5
It’s time to check out and head home — or on to your next destination!
